Spring is upon us and exciting things are happening at Tranquility of Dalton. After a very long and harsh winter, we are looking forward to the many opportunities that await our residents and their families here at Tranquility. As many of you know, we converted part of our facility into a "memory care" area and the response from the community has been extraordinary. We have added numerous new residents over the winter and continue to grow monthly. I do want to take this opportunity to inform you on three very exciting developments at Tranquility.
Construction will soon begin on a new state-of-the-art memory care facility to be located on our campus directly behind Tranquility. This new addition will house up to 24 residents in need of specific dementia care and will be headed by a certified Alzheimer's program director. This building will resemble our current facility, but will be distinctly designed to meet the needs of residents who suffer from Alzheimer's and related dementias.
We also recently purchased 14 condo/apartments on property adjacent to Tranquility of Dalton that are being gradually converted into Independent Senior Living units. These units will be part of our Tranquility campus and will specifically be for seniors who are still able to maintain a household, but need minimal oversight by our staff. These residents will be part of our Tranquility family and will participate in all social activities, gatherings, group events, etc. They will be eligible to use all of Tranquility's facilities at their convenience.
Additionally, we are very pleased to announce that in April we closed on the purchase of a personal care home in Cartersville, GA. This facility has been renamed Tranquility of Cartersville, and is being completely remodeled and updated... and will be managed to the same high standards as Tranquility of Dalton. We look forward to being able to serve seniors in both Whitfield and Bartow counties.
As you can see, Tranquility is very "in tune" with the needs of our community and are striving to meet those needs in a professional manner emphasizing service, integrity, and honesty. For more information on our programs and facilities, please contact Teresa Carter at 706-259-5483. Again, we are very grateful to be part of this community and to be able to serve the seniors of NW Georgia.
